After our having drinks and a (horrid) pastry (it was vegan that's why) from James Coffee...we thought we would walk to the next trolley stop instead of going all the way back to the Little Italy stop.

We walked on Kettner for awhile and passed by some really sketchy places...

It's one thing to drive by it in the safety of your car and another to actually walk it...
We didn't see anyone on our trek from James Coffee to the Middletown Trolley stop. At least it was day time and we got to see the airport in a different light...

plus a few cool murals seen on a nightclub (forgot the name but it was NOT the Casbah)...

Almost there...

The view from the Middletown trolley stop...you can see the skyline in the distance.

You can also see the Port of San Diego building on the northern end of the stop...

We passed by the Morena Blvd/Linda Vista stop...

and made a stop over in Fashion Valley. I ended up buying a MAC lipstick at Macy's from a friend's daughter while TC looked around a few stores. The kind of sucky thing about this trolley stop is that you still have to walk far to get to the mall and then you have to walk back. I sound like a whining pedestrian I know.

After Fashion Valley, we took it over to my alma mater, SDSU.

Our next stop was across the bridge...

Before doing so, we walked in the shade of the newer buildings...

where Monty Montezuma is housed. The sculptor is Donal Hord, whose work, "The Woman of Tehuantepec" you have most likely seen if you've ever seen the fountain in the courtyard by The Prado Restaurant in Balboa Park. This shot was taken through a window since he is now locked up. He used to be out in the open near the front of the school.

A quick visit to the bookstore to look at shirts...

This one was cool; it had the Aztec Sun Dial on it:

At least there wasn't a bear on this shirt. All those California Republic shirts are so irritating.

I showed TC the site of the OAT (Open Air Ampitheater) where I saw many great concerts in the late 80's (including Joe Satriani for his "Surfing with the Alien" tour and Midnight Oil for their "Diesel and Dust" tour).

The beautiful Hepner Hall building...

And the Love Library (named after former SDSU President Malcolm Love). I used to study on the 5th floor because it was pretty quiet. It was a meat market on the lower floors.

Past visit to SDSU:
"Blast from the past - SDSU Retirement Party" September 2010
Our next stop was across the bridge, to where the old Rubio's used to be (if that gives you a hint)...
