Summer Road Trip 2015 - Day 7 Highlights - Our 20 Year Anniversary!

It was a milestone year for me and Bert...

for today we celebrated our 20th year of marriage...

and for those that knew us since high school, 30 years of actually being together.

Our day was fun although we experienced a few curveballs like a flat tire! Luckily, Bert had an air compressor to re-inflate the tire, temporarily. My cousin had a recommendation for a local shop nearby (we ended up having to replace that one tire in nearby Daly City)...

We did not let that deter our planned breakfast at a hipster spot in the Outer Sunset...

Next to our breakfast place was a coffee place notorious for this sign...I know it's blurry but I was trying to snap a pic surreptitiously, heh heh.

I had to have one of my favorite drinks, which originated in this City...so named for the use of their glass vessel.

While Bert was taking care of the flat tire, TC and I checked out the local Ranch 99. It was funny to see that even in a Chinese store, they mixed cough drops with the candy. I thought it was only at Seafood City (primarily a Filipino grocery store).

Once the tire was replaced (which took up a good two and a half hours), we resumed our schedule of activities...

TC wanted to check out a famed landmark at the base of the hill...

She was also curious about another famous landmark recommended by her cousin which we didn't realize entailed a long ass hike. Yeah, I'm a party pooper.

One the plus side, we completed 10,000 steps (according to Bert's app) twice over that day.

Due to our time constraints, we had to cut out a few activities and I cut out the "hike" so we could have lunch here...in the Outer Richmond neighborhood.

The same neighborhood also had a set of new tiled steps (there is a Fresh 'n Easy right next to it as well). While not as tall as the Moraga Steps or the Hidden Garden Steps, these were just as beautiful, having been designed by the same pair of artists.

Over in the Inner Sunset was this new bakery where I had to get one of their signature items...

Dinner for that evening was at a famed restaurant in the Outer Sunset known for these two dishes...

It was such a great meal (very buttery too) and I'm already thinking about how to recreate it at home...

Despite the flat tire which was subsequently replaced and killed off time we could have spent exploring, we still had a lot of fun and were able to see and do many activities which didn't involve an "admission price".  For the places we skipped over, we can still do them for our next visit.

Twenty years is a long time and I sure hope I can spend at least twenty more years (and then some) with Bert! Even though I can be crabby, he puts up with me, haha. But seriously, we know each other so well. He is my best friend and someone I can always count on. I am truly blessed to have him as well as our daughter, TC, in my life.
