Return to the Mission Hills Nursery plus the new North Park Nursery

Last weekend Bert and I did a quick visit here...

He hadn't been before and I was curious to show him the vegetables and get his opinion on what to add to our garden...

They have such a nice selection of herbs here...

It looks like the shiso plants that TC and I saw the month before were still there and were now taller.

We ended up buying a couple of new herbs for our garden.  We visited one more nursery over in North Park. The eponymous nursery used to be located at 30th and Thorn but eight months ago relocated to the corner of University Ave and Texas St.

It's smaller than the Mission Hills Nursery but equally as nice. They had a good and healthy selection of herbs and vegetables as well.

I got some rainbow chard, Thai basic, Chinese leeks and Italian basil. Each plant was $3.

See this sign? The nursery is across the street yo'.

From the Mission Hills nursery, two six packs of different lettuces. We wanted to grow them for fun.

Later that evening, Bert and I went to Home Depot to buy some containers and soil so that we could grow these. A few went into our slope, but most went into the new containers.

I think we will be visiting a few more other nurseries in the next few weeks for more garden ideas. I'm also seriously thinking of getting rid of the grass in our front yard and putting in drought tolerant plants and /or grasses/shrubs. It's time to cut down on that water bill.

Pretty nurseries! I never go since I don't grow things. My parents replaced the grass in our front yard awhile also with lots of various types of catcus. We also have a guava tree in the front. It looks pretty nice, like our own little bit of desert in the suburbs.

We've only recently started going to these types of places. I still have a blackish thumb, haha. Your parents were smart getting rid of their grass.
