Street art in North Park

Before heading out to our next stop, Bert and I took a quick stroll along University Ave...

to check out some of the painted utility boxes which I've been obsessed with for years...

This one was across from URBN and used to have something else painted on it. Now it was different. It reminded me of black etching paper in which you scratch out designs on it.

A few steps away from this was another whimsically painted box...

This shot was taken across the street. This is where 30th and Illinois form a "T".

This facade is the old Woolworth's department store.  Check out my old post in which TORC and I witnessed the artist, Joachim Ixcalli, making this last summer, "Lunch with TORC part 2: City Tacos + a cool new mural at the old Woolworth's", July 27, 2014

When we saw him, he hadn't yet spray painted the blue lines over his color blocked designs. That happened a few days later Unfortunately there is some graffiti over a few sections of his piece.

In an alley (Grim  & University) on the House of Hair building is this mural featuring the ubiquitous Bunny Kitty (which I've posted on several times in the past)...

In a separate post but taken on the same day was this:
The Cat Cult Mural and another bunny kitty

There are MORE Bunny Kitties in San Diego and I vow to find them ALL!
