Coffee & Tea Collective, East Village

Last month Bert and I went to check out the newest location of Coffee & Tea Collective...

having been to the original location in North Park...

The new place shares space with a juice bar ("Juice Saves")...

Like their North Park location, there is a big "ampersand" outside serving as their signage.

Decor is minimalist. There is a neon ampersand behind the counter. Floating shelves hold coffee related products. There is a pourover station and an espresso machine.

Menu of the day:

My Gibraltar and Bert's espresso...

Very nice this was...

So smooth, I didn't even need to add sugar or cream.

Bert's espresso was very rich and strong. It was exactly what he was wanting that morning.

Bisecting this huge space was a wooden divider with outlet plugs. The other half is the Juice Saves juice bar. Juice bars seem so trendy. I've never bought anything from a juice bar.

Behind the coffee accourtrements table was this enclosed space. Turns out it will eventually be office quarters. I forgot for which organization but they own several hipster restaurants in San Diego.

The edge of that rustic wooden divider.

The guys working here were really nice and definitely not snobby assholes.

For a future visit, Bert planned to try one of their pourovers. It's been his latest "thing" while I was trying more actual espresso based drinks instead of iced/blended concoctions. Is this a sign that I'm evolving coffee-wise? Don't answer that, ha ha.

To kill some time, we thought we'd try to find a breakfast place in the area...

I spied the pricey hipster toast on their menu, haha. Sadly, I'd probably order that toast though. Toast and coffee is yummy.
