We weren't familiar with this area. Although yelp lists this coffee joint in Rancho Bernardo, the map said 4s...
I'd only been to the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in San Ysidro and thought Bert might want to give it a try. This location is in the 4s Commons Town Center, a rather upscale collections of shops and stores. Although you can't see it, to the left is Napizza, which I was suprised to see; the other location is in Little Italy. I

There used to be a Pei Wei in Eastlake, but that didn't last long. It was like PF Chang's Junior.
We just wanted some coffee to get us through the morning. We found out when we got to the high school that her event wasn't until later that afternoon. I hadn't been to a track meet before so it was fun seeing all of the different schools compete in the events like the pole vault, sprints, and relays.

Not sure how standard this interior is compared to other CB&TL's. It was quite the popular place, with a long line and all seating occupied except outside where I parked myself because I am antisocial, haha.

I chose an ice blended dark chocolate drink with almond milk instead of regular. Methinks I might be getting lactose intolerant which sucks.

Back to blended drinks just for today...plus it was hot...

Inside the cup on the left was a double shot of espresso with foam. This was the smallest takeout cup they had. Makes you appreciate drinking coffee in ceramic cups much more. These to go cups are pretty ugly and I find that I don't appreciate drinking it as much when it's in a paper vessel.

This was a pretty sterile shopping area. Don't get me wrong, they have all the services and stores that residents could ever want and need (Ralphs, Cost Plus, eateries and such) but it just seemed so corporate and boring...
We were off to TC's track meet and then off to lunch at a newly opened restaurant in Grantville...
