in the same strip mall that houses Thuan Phat...
Yes, you read that right. FOXY Hair Designs. That's almost as good as D'Sexy Look Salon down in south Chula Vista!

We were lucky we got there when we did (around 11:30 am) because very soon after, it was packed. The new space is much bigger than the original location which only sat about 14, but packed this place was especially since it was Mother's Day. Like their previous location, this one was also CASH ONLY. Make sure to bring cold hard cash yo'.

TC always likes having spring rolls. These were made fresh, as they should be. Four individual small ones, not two long ones cut in half. One sauce was sweet and sour-like, the other peanut. Making an appearance was Bert's iced coffee.

Our entrees: Issan Sausage (my 2nd favorite; it was usurped by Supannee's housemade superior version last year), papaya salad (we got it mild since TC would be eating it), sticky rice, pork neck Nam Tok, and fish cakes (which we hadn't tried before). All other dishes we've tried.

These were interesting in that they were flavored with red curry and had bits of Kaffir lime leaves. The texture was a bit spongy.

Our next stop was for coffee at a newly opened shop in the heart of North Park...
