you always know their age just from looking at the year! All kidding aside, today is TC's 2nd year of "teenhood"...
which we celebrated yesterday with Nephew #4 who is one day older. Dinner was at my parents' house. The food was low key, meaning, not too many dishes. What was represented on the plate - stir fried beef, lumpia, grilled chicken wings, pancit bihon and kale salad (from my parents' garden)...
I bought the kids their cakes from Ralph's - the strawberry for TC and the tuxedo for the boy cousin. Here are four people trying to light those candles (the bday kids, Nephew #2 and my dad with the grey hair. Nephew #5, the toddler is trying to get in on the action as well...
This was fun trying to light this in a windy backyard...
That was last night.
Fast forward to today. After picking up TC from school, her bday meal request was In 'n Out Burger! Easy enough! Earlier that morning she told us Hawaiian BBQ so I was expecting to go to Homestyle Hawaiian. I got her the #2 combo, a cheeseburger with fries and a drink while I just had the hamburger.
Dessert (which hasn't been eaten yet) was from nearby Love Cupcake Cafe...
We took three cupcakes to go - Red Velvet for the bday teen, salted caramel for Bert and a new flavor, the Italian Cream for me.
We will be enjoying these later tonight...
*I just noticed after looking at last year's bday post that I got two of the same flavors from last year (red velvet and the salted caramel)...Old habits die hard, I suppose!

Happy bday to your daughter! Looks like a few good meals and the cakes look pretty tasty as well. I haven't seen those orange/red In N Out trays in so long! I always go through drive thru so your burger pic brought back some memories.

Happy birthday to TC! Looks like she and T share the same birthday month - how fun! A was also born in 2000 so it is easier to keep track of, haha. She is a great kid :)

Happy Birthday TC! You can't call her that anymore. TT wouldn't work. She'll outgrow that soon enough. Although, I guess she will always be your child. :)
