Why yes it has...

If you are so inclined, drive your asses over to south Chula Vista for some awesome strawberries while they're still in season!
On the corner of Main and 4th Avenue is a Chula Vista landmark, the Strawberry Fields.

It's right across from the Mariscos el Prieto taco truck, so you can get tacos AND strawberries just a few steps away from each other.

The prices are reasonable for the quality of berries you get here...

We got the three basket pack...

Every berry was absolutely perfect and fragrant!

Cradling the strawberry babies...

Berries on the hood of our car....

Please disregard Bert's dry skin.
Here's my original post from last year.

Oh I've never been here. I've gone to the Strawberry field in Carlsbad. It's something we do every year.
hi Kirbie - I know it's a far drive for you guys but you can always go to Hogetsu during your trip down! :) The strawberry season is pretty short. After April, the fields will be gone again. I have never been to the strawberry fields in Carlsbad...I should go next time.
Have the farms always been here? Maybe I'm remembering it incorrectly but wasn't there one near where the Mervyn's used to be near Saturn?
BTW: Best strawberries EVER -- meaning no white part. Thank you so much.
hi darlene - it's been there for ages...not sure how long but i recall an article that stated it's been there since the 50's...
and yes, you're right, there was a farm near where Mervyn's used to be as well. they used to have tomatoes because i remember having to pick them! they may have grown strawberries too (if they rotated their crops).
