Jersey Joe's Pizzeria

Last week Bert, TC and I had the honor of having dinner with the Dynamic Duo.,..

Otherwise known as Darlene and Paul!

Dinner was at North Park's Jersey Joe's Pizzeria...

When we got there, they'd already ordered some appetizers: Garlic Bread Knots

and Pepperoni Garlic Knots, both served with a side of marinara sauce which were both tasty but if I had to pick one, I'd go with the one with pepperoni.

Although it may look empty in this shot, it got packed later that evening. Along with pizza, Jersey Joe's also offers calzone, pasta and subs. You can view their menu here.

There are many kinds of ready made pizza slices to choose from such as this Lasagna Pizza, along with Stuffed Meat, Crispino (with slice vegetables), Cheese Steak, Vegetarian, and a few others I can't remember. The prices range from $2.25 - $4.00 depending on the toppings.

Here were our slices:

TC's Lasagna slice - now this was pretty hefty and packed. She ended up not liking it so much and ended up eating only a tiny corner. Bert let her have some of his slice...

Both Bert and Paul got the same slice - the Bacon Chicken Cheddar Ranch which was really good!

Here's my White with Ricotta and Spinach. The crust was thicker than what I'm used to (Luigi's) but it was a different style. I love anything with ricotta!

I also tried a slice of the Crispino pizza - not wedge shaped but square (remember Square Pan Pizza?). The toppings included mozzarella with zucchini and roasted red peppers and basil. I only had a few bites and took the rest home. For some reason, I thought eggplant was on it too but it wasn't.

It was such a fun night hanging out with Darlene and Paul. We shared travel stories (Oregon and Texas along with their tales of Wondercon) and enjoyed a plateful of these Zeppole, fried doughnut-like pastries.

Mmm, fried goodness!

Darlene and Paul were kind enough to gift us with a bagful of goodies (candies from Turkey AND Texas, a cute graphic novel for TC and a few birthday gifts for yours truly).

Who else at at Jersey Joe's?

Kirbie went last year (November 2011). I didn't realize this place was fairly new (less than a year and a half). She also had a wide selection of their offerings...

Thanks Paul and Darlene for a fun night and for taking care of dinner!

We'll have to come back again to try the other kinds of slices!
