The proof is in the pudding...

So, did you eat your meat?

Remember, you can't have any PUDDING if you don't eat your meat!

We spent last night eating popcorn while watching the Christmas TV movie classic, "A Christmas Story"...

Here's Ralphie before getting the "boot" from Santa Claus down the slide.

"Ho, Ho, Ho!"!!!

We also watched Frank Capra's classic "It's a Wonderful Life" while I baked a few last minute treats like my lemon bars (not shown) for tomorrow. TC also baked some cookies from ready made cookie dough for Santa. These were white and regular chocolate chip chocolate cookies...Can you see the temerature gauge? It was 48 degrees outside! Yeesh!

They came out kind of thin but no worries, Santa's not a picky guy!

We also had our first taste of real English Christmas pudding, courtesy of Jenny from Jenny Wenny Cakes. That was such a nice gift! I really loved the faceted glass jar.

Here's how it looked before I microwaved it...

After two minutes of being in the microwave, the pudding had risen about 3/4 above the rim. By the time I got my camera ready, the top started to deflate...

I wish I could tell you all of the ingredients that were in this delicious pudding, but there were definitely raisins (dark and golden), and other kinds of dried fruit in there, along with almonds and spices molasses and brown sugar (thanks for the correction Jenny!). The pudding was sticky in consistency. When I think of the word pudding, I think of Bill Cosby and the Jello-brand chocolate pudding he used to hawk on tv. This was quite different.

According to Jenny, it is traditional to have Christmas pudding with Brandy Butter or whipped cream. Unfortunately, we had neither so we ate it plain.

We only had a tiny bit since it was quite rich and sweet but we enjoyed it very much. Hope you all had a festive Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Cool! Glad you liked it! Strangely enough, there are no spices added, it has molasses and brown sugar, and lots of different dried fruits! My mum usually makes hers a year ahead! I was slow and only managed to make them a couple of weeks before christmas!
