And it ain't about toys! No new Barbie and Ken dolls or GI Joes with the Kung Fu Grip this time!
Hell to the no! Located in the Toys R Us lot, right across the trolley tracks on Industrial Blvd and L Street, is one of Chula Vista's most popular taco trucks, Mariscos el Pescador.

It was high time we paid it a visit. I'd never been and neither did Cathy, CAB or Dennis. It was pretty crowded when we got there. There was a a small covered seating area with makeshift desks. That's a nice touch, especially on super hot days or rainy days. The clientele was pretty mixed. Saw some workers on lunch break including a dude with a tie.

Dennis did line duty while us women chit chatted in the parking lot.

Our flavorful and burning hot (temp wise) consomme...

I like the fonts on this sign...

Dennis holding two Gobernador tacos (right hand) and two Marlin tacos (left hand).

We came prepared for our al fresco dining. We brought our own waters. I brought the food trays, paper towels, wet wipes, and extra utenstils.

The Gobernador taco was chock full of shrimp, peppers, and celery. We did not put any sauces on our tacos because we wanted to taste the flavors of the taco unadorned. And yes, that was an akward sentence. Again, CAB divided the tacos amongst us four...

The gobernador tacos I've had before were at Romescos and they were dressed in a creamy sauce. Next time, I'll have to try the sauces offered at this food truck. But back to the taco - it was pretty damn good and quite filling and I only had half!
The other taco was the marlin, which I didn't know, always comes smoked. The fish had a good flavor but it was a bit too salty than what I'm accustomed to.

Like TC's tray? I bought it for Valentine's day when she was in kindergarten. We still use it from time to time. Of the two tacos, I liked the gobernador better.

Who else at at El Pescador?

This was a lot of food! Good stuff.
The gobernador and the consonmme were my favorites. I thought the marlin was a bit too salty for me too. It did have a nice smokey flavor.
I loved eating on those trays!

goh-bear-nah-door, not Guh-ber-nay-tor!

i am so glad i live down in cv even though i'm on the east side. it's close enough for me.
This was a great meal also. You are so prepared for every situation; I'll find my way to your house if we have an earthquake.
