Easy salmon recipe...

Last night we had our last holiday party (that post will have to come next year, har).

I wasn't really thrilled with Sam the Cooking Guy's recipe for "Amazing Steak Sauce Salmon" so I used my tried and true recipe which I learned from my sister in law.

This recipe only has three ingredients, or four if you count the olive oil.

Easy Baked Salmon
(SIL's recipe)

Ingredients:

extra virgin olive oil
1 salmon fillet
mayo
1 packet of Lipton's French Onion Soup Mix

Directions:

So easy...
  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Lightly brush a tiny bit of olive oil on bottom of baking dish
  • Place salmon on top
  • Layer mayo on top of salmon
  • Sprinkle contents of onion soup mix on top
  •  (in retrospect, I should have mixed up the powdered clumps first so that it sprinkled on evenly with the onion flakes)
  • Bake at 350 for 25 minutes
  • Check for doneness; if it's not done, stick it back in and bake a tiny bit longer!

Enjoy!

This dish is now a family favorite and it was a hit at last night's party, unless the other salmon recipe in which it was broiled and it was still raw on the bottom. You can't fail with this unless you have a guest that's a vegetarian or something!

This showed up as a link just now. I have a salmon half in the fridge; it's Friday...going to try it for dinner in the middle of a heat wave! (The Mister does not like onions, but will consume in this form, in fried ring form, in French Onion soup form...)

Let me know if the recipe is a success. This is one of my faves - so easy and people seem to like it.
