Our first stop was the TJ Oyster Bar in Bonita...
Although I had a checklist of planned stops, I also had backups in case we changed our minds.

The TJ Oyster Bar is in the tiny Bonita Plaza (not to be confused with Plaza Bonita mall!) strip mall. OMG, we found parking outside and seating within! Normally, the line is out the door! We kept it simple for our first stop.

Our seats, by the counter at the window.

We shared a large pulpo (octopus) coctel and shared 2 fish tacos (.99 each!). I divided the coctel into extra cups for us...

CAB divided the fish tacos which we all enjoyed. I like their batter here and the white sauce too. Dennis also ordered something extra(not pictured but it was something spicy with shrimp); ironically, they did not have oysters, his original choice!) which I'm sure he will post in the near future.

The coctel was delicious. The octopus pieces were tender and cut up into bite size pieces like they should be. The juice was not too spicy.

I would have been happy just eating this. But of course, we were up for more...
Update - Here's CAB's post on our visit...

I can't believe they were out of oysters! And it was only 11am? The octopus coctel was great though. Great stop.
That pulpo coctel was definitely one of my favorites for the day!
