I picked up the latest post-election issue of the OC Weekly, depicting Pepe the Frog as Trump.

We would see more anti-Trump imagery via graffiti and street art in DTLA...
As a side note, I didn't really know about Pepe the Frog. TC informed me that he was a 'meme' but after looking up info online, found out the the frog has been appropriated as a symbol for the alt-right as well as the white supremacist movement.
Normally we go to Cream Pan after Starbucks and THH, but this time, I asked Bert to drive to the stripmall past Cream Pan, Jamestown Village. If you are ever in the area, check out the unexpected building in the parking lot (post will be forthcoming).

We didn't leave super super early as in previous road trips. Traffic was actually pretty light due to the holiday.

Our first stop was Downtown LA's Historic Core (referred hereafter as DTLA). This is the interior of the Spring Street Arcade. There are not a lot of eateries or shops in there yet but looks like it's in the works with all of the construction going on.

I still need some coffee, which was procured here at the Grand Central Market...

Our eventual destination would be up the hill, past Angel's Flight and Angel's Knoll

to TC's choice of museum for the day, the MoCA. The Broad (which is free) is down the street but it is damn near impossible to get tickets (you have go get them months in advance and most dates are already booked) unless you want to wait in outrageously longass lines for a cancellation. So no Broad.

Interesting living installations outside of the honeycombed exterior of the Broad. There were food trucks lined up to take advantage of those held captive by the long lines.

We had a late lunch at an old school LA institution, on the outskirts of Chinatown...

You know when you see seats like this that the food is going to be good!
We did things backwards that evening, having dessert at a local mall - this is a trendy dessert called Dragon's Breath, which is basically fruit flavored corn puffs infused with liquid nitrogen. Then we had In-n-Out afterwards.

I wasn't a fan of this dessert but it sure seemed to be popular amongst the younger set.
We had a pretty long day and tomorrow would be yet another day full of sights to see and places to try out...
