You may have seen this building before in a recent car commercial...
Next to the Broad is the visually striking Walt Disney Concert Hall, designed by Frank Gehry, who is still alive in his 90's!

See all of those people? They were waiting in the stand-by line to get in. Tickets are obtained in advance on line. I tried it before and most of the dates I wanted were blocked (Fridays and weekends). I tried getting tickets numerous times last year but the only dates available were mid-day (don't people work!?).

Along the south wall of the Broad were food trucks (one of them sold artisanal ice cream, another hot dogs to name a few). We noticed these grass "bumps" (later, I found online they were termed "eruptions" according to this LA Times article, "Why you need to check out the Broad Plaza..." (Sept. 2015). The greenery isn't actually grass but "sedum", a type of groundcover. The bumps were spaced out on the sidewalk, some singly and even one that looked like, ummmm, a bra!

Size 36 double D?

Before heading back to our car at the $%#@ $10 parking lot, we made a quick stop at this Cal Marketplace near a highrise. The reason? To use my "good for a free pastry" coupon from Corner Bakery Cafe. There was one down below.

I let TC pick the pastry (in which cookies are actually lumped in that category), a toffee chip cookie.

Nice and crunchy with the toffee bits made even better with chocolate chips. Free is good.
Of interest was this gently cascading U-shaped waterfall/fountain next to the cafe.

I wonder if people or even their pets have walked through this waterfall on hot days?
When looking up the address of this cafe to list below, I saw that it's only two months new. Not sure if it is just the complex itself or just this cafe.

**Good luck getting tickets and if you do get those golden tickets, give yourself a high five. Maybe if I wasn't so selective with dates and happy with the crumbs that are left, I would go...I'll have try ag!in next Spring when I have a big chunk of time free. This winter we have other plans to see The Ramones exhibit at the Grammy Museum (Hey ho! Let's go!)

With daylight saving time having passed a few weeks ago, it's kind of strange seeing the light diminish at an earlier time. The shadows were getting long. The sun was still out but we were ready to move on to the next destination of the day...
