I'm kind of liking it, in between fearing that she'll hit a car and also feeling a sense of "wow, the teen is driving"...
The coffee place was in this business area. There is a red barn housing different businesses; Kaffee Meister is one of them and it's in the back inside an antique mall.

If you go in the barn, you will find a delightful shop owned by a Latina woman who used to live in the South Bay in prior years. She and her family now own this shop and really enjoy their new surroundings. Because it was the end of October, the front of her shop was decorated in a Day of the Dead theme. She invited us to write the name of a loved one who have passed away on sticks and to place them in a pot filled with other sticks, along with beans to keep the sticks upright.

In the back is an area that leads to the garden and to the Local Mercantile antique mall.

Each room was unique with some decorated by theme. There were all kinds of treasures to be found especially if you collect antiques. It was certainly fun to browse and look at all of the old items in there. I was especially enamored of the vintage Pyrex bowls (my mom still has all of hers) and Depression and Milk glass.

Pyrex bowls sets!

Haha, Bob's Big Boy (remember the scene in the first Austin Powers movie where Dr. Evil escapes?):

We finally found the coffee bar in the back corner. There are only a few tables to sit at; we chose to sit at a table that had games to play with.

View from our table...

TC's Italian soda - strawberry with cream (this was before she mixed it) and my iced cold brew which was refreshing since it was pretty hot that day. Her soda had a lovely flavor, tasting like a strawberry creamsicle but in drink form. The barista was a very chill guy and let us use my two for one coupon for the drinks too, so yay for that.

Bert and TC's chess game in progress...

Back behind the barn so we could head home...

but not before TC and I perused the Red Barn's collection of vintage enamel pins. This is the set that TC bought, $4.00.

Collecting pins is a thing now for the teens. TC likes to wear hers on her vintage denim jacket, a gift given to her by one of her fabulous GBF's who got it at a thrift store.

Since Bert's mom lives up here, it would be fun to come back each visit just to see what's new! Plus, Thanksgiving is coming up and Christmas is around the corner so I just know these stores will be decorated to the max!
