this time with one of her friends coming along...
They had a study session at our house and were working on outlining several chapters for their history class. TC wanted to try Sushi Diner once more. This time, we sat in the side patio since it was packed inside.

The 4:20 Crunch Roll (ordered by TC's friend; I wasn't thrilled with the name of this one). This had calamari, crab, cream cheese, with panko flakes, garlic mayo and eel sauce on top.

The Crispy Avocado Tempura roll which we all shared. I really liked this! Deep fried avocado goodness!

I had the Bruce Lee roll (foreground) while TC had the Super Caterpillar (in the rear). Inside was spicy crab and cilantro; outside fresh salmon with wasabi oil and masago. Very filling.

We were still parked in the Sushi Diner lot but went over to K Sandwiches to pick up a couple of Banh Mi for the teens (for later). They waited outside while I ordered their grilled beef banh mi. I also picked up a botte of house made chili sauce and a tray of fresh spring rolls.

This was the first time her friend had tried banh mi. TC took her sandwich for dinner later for dance practice. I skipped out on getting one for myself but am looking forward to using that chili sauce in future recipes.
Before heading home, the kids and I walked over to Up2 You. I was hoping to get some coffee at Lion Coffee's kiosk but they were already closing up and it was only 2:30 pm. Bummer. I'll have to use my coupon another time, eh. TC had a taro milk tea boba while her friend ordered a Thai tea. I got a blended mocha, then I remembered why I didn't like their coffee drinks here in the past. It was watery and weak, so that'll learn me. The kids also shared a brick toast with green tea ice cream and mangos.

In the back wall, there's a china cabinet, filled not with china but with a SHIT TON of industrial size containers of Nutella. We're talking Nutella for Days....

Mocha here = not that great.

The kids had a study session earlier and lunch and dessert was their reward, plus I was itching to get out of the house!

Next time we are in the area, I definitely want to try Lion Coffee and maybe even Homestyle Hawaiian...
