I like it so much better than the previous elf (not shown) which looks a bit on the creepy side. This one is more cute. Plus he's green! Some of the Pez dispensers have candy in them, but I don't really eat the candy. To be honest, I don't know how old some of it is, so yeah, that would be gross to ingest it. But I digress, this post is about books....
In this case, the classic Little Golden Books. I remember reading them at school when I was a young kid. They belonged to the library or the teacher had them. Books like, "Peter Rabbit" and "The Little Engine that Could", "The Poky Little Puppy" as well as popular fairy tales. We never really owned books when we were young, except for when we ordered books from Scholastic. Those of you in the mid to late 30's and up may remember those Scholastic books in which you would order really cheap books from a paper list and await eagerly for your Encyclopedia Brown or Clifford books to arrive weeks later.
As an adult, I started picking up the Christmas-themed Little Golden Books wherever I would find them. Sometimes, I would pic them up for cheap at thrift stores or sometimes even from the local library's book sale.

Some of these are pretty old, but I like to call them "broken in" for us. I haven't looked for any "new" older titles lately, but these suit us just fine.
More info on Little Golden books here and here.
Do any of you remember reading Little Golden Books and if so, what was your favorite title?

I remember reading Little Golden Books when I was little but I don't remember any of the titles! If it had a puppy, kitten or some kind of animal on it, chances are I read it.
We were too poor to afford Golden Books, but i still come across them from time to time at thrift stores which I pick up depending on the title.
