I'd been wanting to go back here to try some of their sweets...
I don't know about you but whenever I see "d bar", I think of "d-bag". Gross, I know, but that's what I associate with that little "d".

So nice and empty! No lines! But then again, it was nearly 2 in the afternoon. I wanted us to sit where there was a lot of natural light, so we had seats right by the front window. Great for people watching!

We were originally going to order dessert from their menu, but when I saw these macarons and chocolates in the glass case at the front , my mind was made up.

The view from our seats. By the way, Banana Leaf South Indian is now Smashburger!

Cute fall display near the front window:

We shared three macarons ($2 each): Peanut Butter & Jelly, Cinnamon something (forgot what it was but I didn' like it at all), and mocha.

Astroboi dividing the macs.

Of the three macs, my favorite was the PB& J. I liked the peanuts on top and the filling which had grape jelly along with smooth pb. My least fave was the cinnamon. It tasted awful to me. The mocha was a bit wierd because the mac shells were pink. I wasn't sure what flavor they were supposed to be.

We also shared two handmade chocolates ($2 each).

The yellow heart shaped one had passionfruit and chocolate filling. Astroboi wasn't too keen on this. He liked the other piece, dark chocolate ganache, better. Both chocolates tasted as good as they appeared,

We took the "secret" road back to Mission Valley so I could get my car at the mall. The building at the bottom of the hill is the Courtyard by Marriott in Hotel Circle North.

These were additional chocolates that I bought for Bert and TC:

Cookies and cream! So cute, the black and white design. It was TC's favorite of the four.

Pumpkin spice caramel - I got this because I knew Bert would like the caramel. I was not a fan of the pumpkin flavor.

And back by popular demand, the dark chocolate ganache. I love the striking blue and black colors.

The Passionfruit was also repeated for Bert and TC's enjoyment...

Bert's favorites were the blue moon shaped dark chocolate ganache and the passionfruit chocolate. Even though we didn't try any of d bar's desserts, it'll just give me another reason to visit during the Winter Break.
Previous visit to d bar:
July 2012 for Mr. TJ's bday
I had a fab time with Astroboi, as always. Now that the Twilight Saga movies are over, we'll have to find other excuses to go out!

Oo PB&J macarons. Sounds yum! Too bad about the cinnamon one though :(
Hi Minxi - the PB & J was a really good flavor! I thought they'd be more expensive than $2 too since they were a bit on the larger side.
