St. Honore Boulangerie

Can you tell I just want to power through my Portland Day 5 posts?

No exterior shot, but here's an interior...

as we enjoyed the sights and smells of St. Honore Boulangerie...

This was an amazing French bakery that sold not just bread, but also pastries, cakes, and savory items...

It smelled heavenly in here! It was also crowded but the lines moved pretty quickly. We came here for one thing...

The Choquettes.

One dozen for $3.99.

And you can't have just one either! Sweet little sugary pastry puffs sprinkled with even more sugar!

We loved these so much we returned later during our trip. I also bought some imported Belgian Pearl Sugar online so I could make these at home. I just got them in the mail last week and hope to experiment making these on a weekend.

An interesting note:
St. Honore is named for the French patron saint for bakers and pastry chefs.

After all this, we were ready to call it a night...back to the hotel y'all!
