We headed out of the SE Division neighborhood and traveled out to another neighborhood. In doing so, we passed by the Steel Bridge (there are eight different bridges in Portland). It is a vertical lift bridge and the only double-deck bridge with independent lifts in the world. The other side connects to the Old Chinatown neighborhood.
The next stops on our agenda (yes, there was an itinerary) would take us to N. Mississippi Street...
Okay, not sure where this was, but I liked the "ghost" ad for Coke on the brick building.

Below, a quick glimpse of the Broadway Bridge...

I actually wanted to check out this shop called Missing Link Toys but I didn't know they'd be closed that day.
Luckily, Bridge City Comics was across the street. It's also next to Little Big Burger. If we hadn't had lunch earlier, we would have tried that place!
Of course, we had to go in...

It had a nice layout. Easy to find. Good selection of graphic novels, comics, the different genres, etc. Bert really liked it. Amazingly, he DID NOT get anything here.

TC bought this graphic novel, "Ghostopolis" by Doug Tennapel with her spending money. She really liked the story line and the artwork. I still haven't read it but plan to do so. It's hard juggling books.

As for me, I got the latest intallment of Chew by John Layman (Eisner winner!), "Chew 4". I have since learned that there is now a 5th compilation. Sadly, I still have to finish reading this. I get distracted so easily with books! The first three was a great read and I'm itching to read this one, but only after I finish "A Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness.
The folks working here were super nice too! We talked about the Comic Con and the other comic shops we'd been to in Portland (Floating World and Cosmic Monkey)...

In addition to being next to the burger place, Bridge City was also next to an ice cream shop...
It was time for some lactose refreshment!
