Return to Pix Patisserie - Division

As we walked further down SE Division, we made a stop here:

Pix Patisserie, one of two locations (at the time of our visit)...home of the chocolate beer float and imaginative macarons...

Sweets in their display case...

We got one of the Pixies since Bert is a Pistachio fan. I liked the flavor combinations with almond paste and raspberry jam. We would eat it later that evening...

And later on, back at our suite, our macarons and the Pixie. From left to right - Fleur de Sel Caramel, I don't remember but it had rosemary leaves on it (yuk),  Hazelnut, and Pumpkin Spice (decorated with little pepitas on top). Click here to see their flavors.

I was a bit disappointed by their lack of variety. Last time we went, they had more flavors out. These weren't so colorful. Of the four, my favorite was the fleur de sel caramel. Bert liked the Hazelnut (which was pretty since it had a brushstroke of edible gold paint on top).

Here's a flashback to our first visit to Pix back in 2009 (combo'd with our dinner at Pok Pok with KDB).

Their other location is in North Portland (aka NoPo or the "Fifth Quadrant"). That location just closed last month. The owner plans to reopen a larger store on 2225 E. Burnside with an adjacent tapas bar concept. A post on the NoPo location will be forthcoming.

Next, out of the SE Division St. neighborhood and into N. Mississippi!
