Buffalo Breath Costumes

A few friends and I were here recently to check out their costumes for our kids who have an upcoming "Egyptian Day" in December.  Every year, each grade level does something different. It's International Day for 2nd grade, Kumeyaay for 3rd,& "Wild West" for 4th, and "Colonial Day" for 5th.

Let's see what they have to offer...

I've heard so much is place and I know they do brisk business during Halloween for sure...

The mid-town location of Buffalo Breath Costumes  (off Hancock Street) is housed in a huge industrial warehouse jam packed with rows and rows of costumes. There are costumes for adults as well as kids. Lots of the women's costumes verged on slutville (Sexy French Maid/Nurse/Cowgirl, Pirate Wench, etc). Uh, I'll pass on that! Those long hanging things were feather boas.

In addition to the usual Halloween type costumes, they also had elaborate costumes like something you'd wear at a Renaissance Fair. We asked to see what they had for children's Egyptian themed costumes and leafed through a photo book. We saw lots of cool things in there and decided we'd rather rent the costumes (20% discounted rate since it was a school project) than buy them. I mean, when is TC going to wear a costume like that again? I saw a really nice one for $59.99 but  that was too steep (even with 20% off). Another costume was $29.99 (now that was more do-able). The cool thing about the costume rentals are that the accessories come with it (gold snake arm band, collar, headband, bracelets/cuffs, etc).

I'd hate to wear one of these plush costumes in hot weather! Kinda looks freaky with those empty eye sockets!
