The new location of Genteel was here, on the corner of 13th and J....
It was an older warehouse that the owner recently acquired. The old space for Genteel (which I never tried when they were still around in that location) was near the trolley tracks on G & Park Blvd near the collab mural by Persue, Glo and Montrinho.
So when you see the warehouse, you enter through the north side...

The warehouse is in the shadow of the distinctive building on the edge of J St and the 5.

Not this side, but the other side.

In the alley...

It's pretty big in here with a few tables scattered about and a communal table. They have a bathroom too, so yay for that. There was also a grouping of macrame plant holders near the kiosk.

Simple and concise menu. I'll need to come back with Bert to try their other specialty drinks (the Vixen and Foxtrot, two specialty lattes). Astroboi doesn't really drink coffee; he opted for a matcha latte while I had their macchiato proper, which isn't on the menu. Sometimes some places offer it and not the cortado or vice versa. If a coffee place knows what they're doing, they'll know how to make it, which was the case here. The folks working the counter were super nice and friendly.

I really liked the serving board for the macchiato as well as the glazed ceramic cup. It wasn't generic looking. I'll have to ask who made it next time I go (and there will be a next time).

The day was warming up. I still had my iced coffee from Seahorse to nurse. Good thing I had my trusty cooler...
It was time to vamoose from East Village over to Barrio Logan. Astroboi's lunch destination of choice was already open (it was already past 11 am at this point) and we wanted to beat the lunch rush...
