Summer Road Trip 2018 - Starting off at Cream Pan, THH, a vintage Taco Bell & a stop at Neat Coffee

We can never have a road trip up north without stopping here...

It's pretty much required...

to go to Cream Pan, ha ha!  We ate the salmon onigiri (still warm!), the blueberry pastry, the hot dog bread and their famous strawberry croissant.

The remaining were to be given as a gift to a friend and her husband whom we would be meeting up with for lunch in a few hours. Below, raspberry and cream cheese pastry, pecan rolls, mixed berry scone an the chocolate orange pastry.

These were inhaled pretty much by us three.

We also made another stop at another required place, THH. No pix of the spring rolls and banh mi. You already know what those look like.  No, I want you to take a look at the fast food joint across the street. Yes, it's Taco Bell, but it's got the retro signage going on still!  However, the lot was taped up and there seemed to be construction going on in the lot (obscured by sign). Wondering if this place has closed or will reopen?

I can't believe I never noticed it before from our previous trips!

We didn't have to get to Long Beach for lunch until 11:30 and it was still pretty early. Coffee was in order here...

Last year, we stopped at a placed called Bad Coffee, also in Costa Mesa. Not wanting to do a repeat, I found another place that we could go to. Reviews said it was in a co-working office spot in a business park. We found it easily enough. It's very small inside with no place to sit, only tables outside.  The lady working the counter (turned out to be the owner) was really nice and friendly.

Yes, a concise menu, the way it should be. Although folks online recommended the Golden Latte, I passed on it due to my lackluster feelings about turmeric (I don't like how it smells or tastes and defintiely don't want to drink it in my coffee despite it's health benefits).

Behind the coffee counter was another room, which was owned by Fldwrk (no vowels). The space is used for folks who don't have an office, but pay to use the space.  I guess I'm old and old-fashioned and don't really get why people need to this, but that's the way the younger folks work. No office of their own, so they pay to use a non-traditional office setting.

It wasn't open yet but the coffee shop owner said we could peek inside.

We kept it simple. Macchiato for me and mocha for him (using Oatly, the hottest new milk substitute)...

The mocha came in a paper cup because she didn't have any ceramicware for mochas. My macchiato on the other hand was served in a cute glazed cup.

Lovely to look at and nice to drink!
