TC was doing volunteer work so it was yet another morning date, this time in Mission Hills
But first, let's rewind to this place, the corner of Broadway and F in west Chula Vista:

Breakfast first at Manna!

Bert got their $3.99 special (2 pancakes, 2eggs and 2 sausage (instead of bacon), while I got the...you guessed it, Chicken Fried Steak with scrambled eggs and hash browns! I can't help it! I really like the CFS here!

Juicy sausage and sunny side eggs (Bert's obviously):

We shared our breakfast, splitting the CFS and the pancakes, and everything else between us...

As always, the young waitress was so nice. The owner was having his own breakfast when we left but he made sure to wave goodbye and thank us.
So back to Mission Hills where I found there was a new coffee shop just a few doors down from The Huddle. The name? The very uncreative Mission Hills Coffee Company with coffee from an unknown source. I could've sworn I read online that it was from Cafe Moto, but couldn't see any sigange inside that indicated where. I'll never know because we don't plan on coming here again.

Yeah it's pretty inside...

They serve not only coffee but all kinds of fancy tea plus food.

Bert had a white caramel coffee while I wanted a cortado, which wasn't on the menu but when I saw their shot glasses, figured they could make it. I saw on their menu board that the smallest coffee drink was 12 oz. Even their macchiato was 12 oz. Usually at the GOOD coffee places, they will indicate that it is 4 oz but not here.
When Bert asked if they could make a cortado, the girl seemed confused and said, "Oh do you want me to put it in the big mug?". Then she said they don't make it and could we order something else, so Bert thought I would be okay with a cold brew. But no, I really wanted a cortado or something close to itBert had to explain what it was and the ratio of espresso to milk. The end result was not good. Bert's coffee drink was ok and mine was nothing resembling a cortado.

No nice steamed milk froth for mine. I think the girl just dumped the milk on top of the espresso. It was lukewarm after a few minutes. Not very pleasant to drink.

That'll learn me not to get this next time and maybe not get shit at all if it's not on the menu. I figured, for being a coffee company unquote, they should know how to make drinks like this. But apparently not (pulls hair in frustration).

Perhaps their other stuff is good but oh well, I tried it once and definitely know I can get a way better execution of a macchiato and/or cortado down the street at Heartwork Coffee Bar. OMG, have I turned into a...coffee snob?

No return visit to this coffee place here...but for Manna, make it a hell yeah
