Our lodging for the night was in the seaside town of Jenner..
which is along the 1...

Of all of the places we stayed during our Summer Road trip, this was the most expensive per night (200+). I bit the bullet since it was by the ocean, had an adjacent restaurant so we wouldn't have to go out at night, and it was on our way up to our next destination. Plus, there wasn't any lodging that caught my eye in the smaller towns inland (most were even more expensive or had no vacancies).

We were able to rest for a tiny bit, stretching out our legs and all before making the short walk to the Ocean Cove Bar & Grill. Their menu was basic (and priced on the higher side for what it was but WTH we were on vacation)...

We kept it simple by getting a trio of their "favorites".

It all looks like a variation on a theme of fried. The only difference was the protein.

The Cod Po'Boy for Bert with supposedly spicy Cajun fries:

Battered Salmon (with fries, not shown):

Fish and Chips with coleslaw and fries for TC:

My salmon was actually pretty good; the fish was flaky and still juicy underneath that batter. Bert wasn't too impressed with the sandwich. He's had real po'boy's in New Orleans and this was not even a decent rendition. As for TC, her fish and chips were enjoyed; she's easy to please. Despite the so-so food, our server was quite fabulous, checking up on us, cracking jokes and doing his best to serve a full house as the restaurant was packed that evening.
Here is a video of the Lodge's grounds, complete with slide and swings...
Across the way was an actual cove that we didn't get a chance to explore, but I read that during certain times of the year, you can even see whales out there. This was a cute place to stay in the middle of nowhere.
