So off we went down south, off the 805 and Palm Ave exit in Otay Mesa...
Can you guess what we wanted?

This was a new development...Teresita's is expanding!

All sorts of items are sold here, not just drinks, but fruit salads and breakfast items too.

I noticed that they raised their prices. The small used to be an even $4, the medium $5 and the large $6.

We got two mediums with the 2 for 1 coupon which I wanted to use before the expiry date of November this year.
Chamango drinks are offered at many more fruiterias than Teresita's nowadays. Each place has their own spin on it and there are even other versions with different fruit like watermelon ("sandia"). I have to remind myself to order the watermelon version next time and there WILL be a next time since I have my new coupon book which has (yay) another coupon for Teresita's.

This drink is so pretty. It's both sweet and salty.
Too bad Bert doesn't like this. He's not a fan of the mix of flavors.

I'd like to make my own version next time. It seems easy enough. Mango slushy with mango chunks, a few squirts of chamoy (I bought a bottle at a local Mexican market) and a few pieces of chaca chaca candy (that, I have to find).

This was such a nice treat on such a super hot day!

As good as this was, it was too much for us to finish in one shot, especially this medium size. Our drinks were frozen upon our return home and revived later that evening!
Previous visits to Chamango:
September 2011
December 2011
April 2012
Next time, we will give the watermelon version a try!

Thank you for introducing me to Teresita's; It's my go to place when I'm in the neighborhood. Always good and fresh here. I can't believe how many people are always working, it's like there is never a 'down time'.
you are quite welcome! it's a very popular place. there are always people in there. the day i went with tc, there was no line, thank goodness. the ladies who work there are really nice.
i really want to try the watermelon version next time.
