This Labor Day weekend, I was out and about and thought I would give luck a try...
It wasn't even that late (only 10 am) and the donut offerings were already pretty sparse. I also noticd that Mr. Arnold raised the prices by a dime.

German chocolate bar for Bert - this is his favorite flavor. This is the only donut shop I've seen this offered at. For me and TC, one old fashioned and two cinnamon rolls.

My total should have been $5.26 but he charged me an extra dollar. I think he did that the last time I was here too. He probably rounds up (way up) in his head, dammit.
I noticed this sign. Today was the 2nd too.

I wonder if he's ever gone on vacation before? Maybe this is the first time in a long time, who knows.
Across the ways on 9th and Palm is the new Breakwater Town Center. One of my colleagues said it was mega busy when they opened last month.

I found a lot of parking available since it was still pretty early. There are a lot of chain businesses here like Chipotle and Starbucks (which sadly, have already been vandalized), with a new Poke place gearing up to open soon, along with Five Guys (which we've never tried before).

Here is a photo of the exterior corner, snapped while at a light (which is still against the law since you're not supposed to be holding a phone while the car is running, even when stopped). What compelled me to do so was the amazing rendition of the underside of the IB pier.

Before heading home, I wanted to use one of two coupons I planned to use.

I was pleased to see the iconic "IB" stickers being sold here.

The design with the sun on "IB" and the wave below has been around since the early 80's (possible the 70's).

The Deb's coupon was 50% off one dozen cookies. The man gave me a baker's dozen (with the extra one bagged separately; I chose the black and white, chocolate and white chocolate chips with nuts).

Inside the bags were half a dozen cookies containing a variety - chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, toffee, black ad white, oatmeal chocolate chip and peanut butter.
As a flashback, here was the construction of the Breakwater Town Center circa March 2017:

We kept one of the half dozen for ourselves and the other was given to TC to share with a friend and her family. I'm glad that the parking situation wasn't so bad at the new shopping center. The Grocery Outlet there had a lot of neat products. I didn't get too many items since only so much could fit in my portable collapsible cooler. Pretty soon, all of the businesses in there will be open, creating more jobs for the local economy, always a good thing. IB is changing!
