Even though it says Kanpai, we were at Gunco...

the adjoining restaurant next door...
TC was at a night event at her school (a music festival) and from what I recall, last year, Bert and I went here for dinner before picking her up.
We were within the time range for happy hour. We had our favorites plus a new one to try. Most were on the menu except for the fried oysters and squid.

Complimentary edamame (the waitress gave us some because one of the orders took a while to come out) and Bert's $3 beer.

Dinner..

Spicy tuna roll:

Buttery corn and shrimp in a creamy sauce:

Bert's ramen with pork (shoyu base I think):

Pork sausage and potatoes:

My favorite, the fried oysters:

We hadn't tried this yet, the fried octopus - the garnish was fried gobo I believe.

Tiny and tender baby octopus....

We sat at our usual table in the corner and luckily no demon children were present. It was crowded by the time we left.
Previous Happy Hour visit at Gunco Ramen:
February 2015 where we first went to Hogetsu and heard a cool story about the Philippines from Mr. Takeda...
Since we had a lot of time to kill before getting the teen, we made a quick stop at Seafood City to get some snacks and vegetables for my weekend cooking marathon...
