Living Room Cafe @ The SD Central Library

Bert and I originally planned to have coffee at Bean Bar across the street from the SD Central Library...

Unfortunately, it was already closed by 5:30 pm, then I remembered that the library had a cafe there...

The Living Room Cafe is run by the Marjip sisters (formerly the owners of House of Nine Dragons in Bonita which is now a Wings place). The cafe is located in a courtyard between the library itself and the Neil Morgan Auditorium, site of the documentary screening, "Delano Manongs".

Bert chose a Hammerhead while I chose a macchiato.

This article is posted at the end...

They have good here too including quiche and sandwiches...

My (first) macchiato. The reason? A mere few seconds later, I saw a former student who greeted me and inadvertently knocked the drink out of my hand.

Underneath all of that foam was my macchiato with espresso brewed from Caffe Calabria. Let's just say that this wasn't all that great. The first two sips of this AND my second replacement one (which my former student's uncle bought)...

The view of the Coronado Bridge from the counter...

Now it was time to check out the event a few steps away at the Neil Morgan Auditorium, a documentary screening about unsung heroes of the farm labor movement, Filipinos and their role in the 1965 Grape Strike of Delano...
