Don't you just love daylight saving's time? The longer days are so much nicer and I feel I can get a lot more done...
We noticed a few new things on the menu. Bert chose the Basa fish fillet prepared sweet and spicy and with peanuts. I got the Caramelized Shrimp while TC chose grilled shrimp with bun.

Lots of shrimp in this one. Their bowls are nice here, s hallow and allowing for a prettier presentation rather than a deep bowl where all of the vegetables are hidden at the bottom.

Bert's fish, which we all enjoyed. There was a light and crisp batter coating. The peanuts gave it a nice bit of crunch. The sauce wasn't super spicy either but a good balance of both sweet and a tiny bit of spicy.

My caramelized shrimp (I counted 11 in there) with lots of onions and delicious (but sweet) sauce...

It came with white rice which was the perfect vehicle to soak up the caramel sauce. I hardly ever eat white rice but I just had to in this case. The shrimp also came with a small bowl of soup which I didn't really drink since it was just a plain broth and I was really only interested in the shrimp and that crack sauce.
Previous visit to Pho Hiep Grill Chateau:
December 2014 where I had rolls with my sister and KDD had the gross "mock fish"
We kept it local tonight since TC didn't have a youth group function tonight. While walking back to our car, we saw the Taquitos in the parking lot and gave them our spot. Like Bert and myself, the Taquitos have been together since high school; in fact there are three other couples who have been together since way back when and are still married. Time really does fly because we remember when their daughter was born and now she is a junior in high school (same school as TC) and is driving (what!). It's great also that TC is friends with their daughter, along with our other friends' kids.
How about that weather earlier this afternoon?

It was a pretty $%#@ hot today with more of the same expected for this weekend! It feels like summer again!

It surely was $%#@ hot yesterday CC....but even more today! Sheesh.....
It totally was!!!!!
The weekend was brutal... I'm glad it's cooling down today! Though I'm in the cold freakin office today. Ugh. Mmm, your post might be inspiring to get something with shrimp in it today for lunch...
It didn't seem so bad on Sunday when we were in the OC. Hope you were able to have some skrimps today!
I really admire how you count the shrimp. I went to dim sum with sis today and counted the 'jumbo' shrimp in her shrimp in lobster sauce lunch special b/c I wanted to specifically document it for a future post :)
Is there a reason you don't eat white rice often ? I usually don't either but have been craving it lately.
hi faye - as much as i used to love it, white rice = carbs i don't need.
they were generous with their shrimp in this dish. another place where i had bun with shrimp only gave like 6 or 7 and they weren't even big. i felt ripped off, haha.
