we headed over for a late night treat...
Bert used the free certificate which I got last year when I bought gift cards (for every $10 spent, I got a free certificate). He had the Root Beer and Wild Berry Italian ice. He can't do the custard since it has dairy and yeah, the effects aren't so great. TC and I used the other coupon for the new dipped cones. Yes, we're deprived. I've never had a dipped cone at Foster's Freeze or anywhere for that matter, so this was a first for us.

The coupon wasn't that great. It was buy one whatever and get the other half off, which really only makes it 25% off. Plus, the coupon didn't indicate that there was a charge "per dip", so if you wanted to get all three flavors (cherry, caramel or chocolate), it would cost you .50 per dip so I just stuck with one flavor. TC called dibs on the caramel which she just chose vanilla custard.

I got chocolate custard but had to get another flavor dip since caramel was taken. The cherry, by the way, tastes really artificial and not pleasant. I wished this was dipped in good quality chocolate or something, then I would have eaten it.

I so wanted to like this.

The coating was really thick and was a bit awkward to bite into at first. We ended up taking these home and froze them for later.

I ended up eating the custard and not the coating. Try as I might, it was just too sugary and fake tasting.

Not much of a discount. I don't think I'll be using the other coupons and would rather just use my other freebie certificates or my BOGO coupons 'cuz I'm frugal like that.

I will now have to try other dipped cones to uh, compare. Yeahhhhh, that's the ticket. Fosters Freeze is one place and I know there are a few more places out there. Any recommendations?

Oooo, they have dipped cones now. Bummer yours wasn't that awesome. Foster's Freeze is definitely where we get the majority of our dipped cones. They only have chocolate and the soft serve is like a French vanilla - I like it! They also have dipped cones at Mr. Frostie in PB. Place is packed in the summer with the tiniest parking lot. Peppertree Frosty in Vista also has them in multiple flavors. Weinerschnitzels also has them at the TasteeFreeze (or whatever it's called). Dairy Queen also has them but their soft serve sucks (unless you like eating cool whip on a cone, I guess). Okay, that's all I can think of!
I need to try all those places u mentioned..for research of course, haha. I've never been to any, except Wienerschnitzel but then I only had their chili dogs not ice cream.
