Chillin' with our Fizzios...

Traveling up Laurel Street  via Harbor Drive...

Cathy is the queen of side streets. It's always fun taking the "scenic route" with her....

as we passed by Hillcrest, past the abandoned Pernicano's restaurant which has been empty for at least two decades. The elderly man who owns it is still alive and won't sell his restaurant, from what I remember reading.

Cathy took us through 6th to get to the 8 so we could head into Mission Valley...

This flyer of a young "Thriller"-era Michael Jackson was somewhere near Hazard Center. We would be going to first of all, get some dessert and secondly, get my car in the Missional Valley mall structure which was, gladly, not baking in the hot sun.

Our original intent was to get some shaved snow ice from Chilly Ribbons, a  kiosk near Macy's first seen on Kirbie's post.  We checked on their map and it was not there which was a big disappointment. I guess that Chilly Ribbons place didn't last long. Kirbie posted on them back at the end of December. The last yelp review was dated June 14th of this year, which really wasn't that long ago. So...

Plan B was Starbucks for one of their new fancy Fizzio drinks. Cathy had a loaded giftcard from a client, so this was a nice treat. This Starbucks is next to Nordstrom Rack...

I had the ginger lemonade while she had the ginger ale. Both were so very cool and refreshing on this very very warm day...

I'm not sure how long Starbucks will be carrying these sodas but they sure did hit the spot!

The "Not Glendora Foodcrawl" recap:
Stop 1 - Donut Panic
De Mi Cafe Cafe
Catalina Offshore Products & Specialty Produce
Another beautiful view of San Diego & return to Supannee House of Thai
United Portuguese S.E.S. Market 3x
and of course, this post!

Until the next food/market crawl...

It's weird to me how Starbucks is branching out beyond coffee, which was why they changed their logo. The sodas sound like they were good though!

I didn't even notice they changed their logo! Sodas were good and glad they were "free" (because of Cathy's gift card)! :)

The Fizzios are made with cane sugar and have no caffeine and I love ginger flavored soda (Vernors ginger ale (made in Detroit) was used for a "Boston Cooler" in the summer as a treat as well as heated and served with honey added when my brother and I had colds in the winter). Sincerely, The Queen (of side streets).

Thanks again for the drink! It was so needed that day!
