at good ole SDSU...
my alma mater! The young child who was a mere kindergartener when I started this blog in 2006 is now a college freshman!
It was a pretty long day with parents having a separate orientation from the students, complete with a catered lunch. I have to admit, I skipped out on the afternoon workshops so I could wander the bookstore and also check out the new Trader Joe's on College Ave. Across the street, I noticed the new outpost of 55 Thai (the original is in Golden Hill in the back of a liquor store).
We went there for dinner afterwards to avoid traffic. TC finished late since students had to enroll for classes online which was a lengthy process with the system crashing every so often. Times have changed. We didn't do online enrollment back then and neither did we have orientations with parents!

Menu is simple, which I like. Too many choices can be overwhelming.

TC's Thai tea with boba.

I guess I'm not hip, but apparently putting stickers on your Hydro-Flask is a "thing". When TC pointed that out to me, I started noticing it more with my own students. It's sometimes a cool topic of conversation when I ask them about certain stickers.
Our dinner:

Bert's spicy noodles with chicken. You can't really see the noodles since they're hidden. The chicken was really tender though. Spice level was low by request.

TC's pad thai with only vegetables. They had kale in this. Very health conscious. Not very saucy.

They were out of sticky rice so I settle for brown rice. I ordered fried pork from the appetizer menu. This was pretty good but after a few pieces, I called it quits. The sauce, as murky as it looked, had a bit of a kick to it.

Glad we were able to try the other dishes on their menu which actually has more items than their original location (check out my previous visit here)
