It's in the Kohl's shopping center and right next to Krispy Kreme. I don't like Kohl's at all so I hardly ever go to this area, but since I had a magic piece of paper...
known as a "buy one get one free" coupon...If a chamango is involved, well then...I'm there!

Like many fruiterias, there are bins of fresh cut fruit for salads that you can order with granola and cottage cheese...

It's bright and cheery inside with citrus colors. They also sold packaged coyotas (big round pastries. filled with caramel). I like the ones from Moreliana better; theirs are filled with piloncillo instead of caramel or cajeta.

I saw that they not only offered a chamango, but versions that included strawberrry, pineapple, and watermelon.

With my coupon, I got two larges for $5 (or $2.50 each). Not bad. One was a Chamango and the other was Chawatermelon (which kind of sounds lame; it sounds better in Spanish as Chasandia).

TC ended up really liking the watermelon version and considered it very refreshing.

The sunset as I headed home cutting through Eastlake...

Back at the comfort of home...haha, you can see the drink through the straws.

Of the two, I liked the mango version better. The watermelon was good as well, but I didn't like the texture as much as the smoother mango drink. Bert doesn't care for these concoctions because of the chamoy, which I guess is an acquired taste.

One of these days, I'll have to do a Chamango roundup, but knowing there are other variations with (watermelon, strawberry, and pineapple) just means I'll have to explore those too!
Yay for coupons. They're meant to be used. I don't care if you call me a cheapass for using them but saving a few bucks always makes me feel better...

Coupons are the best! I've been considering getting one of those Entertainment books again but just haven't done it. I liked the layered look of the mango one, very pretty.
hi mary - those books are totally worth it. the downside is that sometimes the businesses in there no longer exist, like when i tried to find the (old) location of mcgonagle's when it used to be in paradise hills. i have some coupons saved of places i haven't been to yet...am biding my time.
