I had some time to kill and thought I might be able to score my favorite donut flavor since it was still early in the day...
Unlike last time, I didn't have to illegally park in the bank's parking space. A space in front was waiting for me, it seemed.
As you can see, I had three donuts ($1 each but I only spent $2).
I loved the mini apple fritter last time, so I got one again and YES, they had blueberry donuts this time.
The lady said she had one more, but then she said, "Oh there's another one but it's small, so you can have that for free!" Score indeed!
Even though I knew I would have lunch soon with Kirbie, I thought I would just take a few bites of that apple fritter. One bite became two, then five and then it was gone!
I sat in my car eating by myself like a loser (haha) in the Cherry 6 level of the Fruit section at Horton Plaza's parking garage. It's my "go to" parking since it's the same level as the women's bathroom in Nordstroms, complete with a pedestrian bridge. I was glad that Horton went back to the old way of validation - 3 hours of free parking! You can even bypass purchasing anything there (no more having to buy gum or candy) and just validate your ticket at one of the machines out in the mall.

Later that afternoon, Cathy of mmm-yoso dropped off a few food gifts. It was a trade of sorts, since I had a few things for her from my recent trip, as well as that free smaller blueberry donut which I'm sure she enjoyed.
The blueberry donuts at Donut Haven aren't as dark and as crisp as the ones from Mel's Donuts in Anaheim but they are a bit more firm than the one I had at Dunkin' Donuts. I liked the size of these donuts though. The customer service here was quite nice; I really appreciated that lady's generosity! Very nice!

I enjoy our random food trades. The donut was extremely fresh (The Mister kind of grabbed it off the counter and said so before handing me 'my' half). That area of Horton is where I park too!
That is so nice of the lady to give you the smaller blueberry donut! I love hearing stories of good customer service, especially in these days when all that gets spread are bad stories =)
hi cathy - so do i! haha, i'm glad your husband "enjoyed" half of that donut! i hate having to "think" when i'm that infernal parking garage (fruit or veg?). for the sake of ease, i like using nordstrom's bathrooms because they're clean.
hi jinxi- yes, that was very gracious of the lady. that was such a nice surprise. i think little things like this would earn them customer loyalty.
Maybe donut people are just happy people since they're around donuts all day - reminds me of the old guy at Donut Stop! Super nice! My "go-to" level is 7 since we pretty much only come to Horton to go to the movies (rare) or scope out some place Downtown. I hate that the far escalator is totally gone now. Maybe I need a new go-to parking level.
What? The escalator is gone? I really hate driving around that parking structure, so I've learned to always park in the same general area Makes it easier and convenient.
