San Diego skyline

Last weekend we did a quick trip to Coronado to take our holiday photo...

On the way there, we passed by Star Dust, the operative words being "passed by" since it was Sunday and the infamous donut shop was closed...

We were bound for the strand to try to get a few family shots for our Christmas card...

This is the view from the southernmost end of the Strand...you can see San Diego Bay, Mount Miguel and parts of Chula Vista and National City.

Further up, we saw the shipyards...Interestingly, the white ship with the Red Cross was the Mercy, a hospital ship which is currently docked in San Diego.

The fairytale spires of the famed Hotel del Coronado loomed in the distance while we passed the luxury highrises of the Coronado Cays. So that's how the other half lives, ha ha.

Such a gorgeous hotel, but so expensive!

We haven't taken a holiday photo at the Ferry landing in years. Actually, it was just TC when she was 5 or 6 (can't remember the exact year). Not us. Just the kid. This time we took the tripod instead of asking a random stranger to take a potentially crappy photo.

So this is what was in the background of our family photo, the beautiful San Diego skyline...

Here's someone's video from the ferry (leaving Downtown)...

We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful city!

Because I'm totally anal organized, our photo was taken that Sunday, ordered that night, picked up the yesterday and will be mailed by Wednesday. One less thing to worry about, ha ha.

But really, it was such a beautiful day and we wanted to enjoy the sunshine. As we crossed the Coronado Bridge to head back home, our plans changed thanks to our trust Garmin...

Thank you for the Christmas card! Yours was totally the first one I got! I haven't even gotten the ones I ordered online yet (grumble grumble). We did a "driveby" for Stardust yesterday, too! And naturally, it was closed. Booooo. But yay for your Christmas card :)

You're welcome! :) yay!

Seems like it's more 'miss' than 'hit' with Stardust.
