She was attracted to the Thrifty Ice Cream sign so we made a mental note to drop by on our way out...
The market was quite small so I didn't take too many photos in here. The market had so many interesting items. There were so many different kinds of canned and jarred goods, rice, tea, cookies, ghee (clarified butter), lentils, chickpea flour, and assorted candies.
Near the register, they had a table set out in honor of Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights. Behind the table were freezer filled with the Indian version of tv dinners, appetizers, and snacks. To our right was the ice cream that TC was craving...

It would only be her that day since Bert and I were all snacked out. True to form, TC picked the Rainbow Sherbet, a mix of three different fruit ice creams. I'm not fond of it myself, but she really likes that fruity stuff. One scoop was all she wanted.

But forget about the ice cream, I was more interested in the ads on the windows of the market!

Bert and I each picked out two kinds of crunchy snack mixes. We picked up something similar at Namaste last month. They weren't quite the same because we didn't remember the name, but we still wanted to try something new. The one we had before was a mix of savory and sweet crunchies.

These snack mixes were pretty neat. They had all kinds of little crunchy things in them like lentils, potato puffs, peanuts, spices (both spicy and sweet) and other fried bits. These are similar to the toppings and mixes they sell at Surati Farsan. They will usually put these as a topping to diced or mashed potatoes or beans topped with mint or tamarind chutney, and yogurt. I love the different flavors and textures. I want to learn how to make those snacks and chutneys!

I love the design and colors on this "Ice" truck that was parked outside. Definitely Orange County style! None of that blue stuff!

There is no website but here are a few reviews from you know where.
It still wasn't 1 pm yet and as punctual as I normally like to be, we didn't want to be the first people at the shower...so off we went exploring the streets where we came across a lake...

Just an FYI- it's not open at 6:30 a.m., but we stopped in the parking lot and looked in the window and the aisles look really fascinating. {We were across the street at Cream Pan, erroneously buying cardamom-chocolate chip rolls along with quick breakfast treats}.
hi cathy - that seems a bit too early for that small store. if you ever go up again within their time frame, check out their little snacks.
cream pan is the best!
