Yes, I was back again...back for MORE of those palmiers, which are the best I've had...
I got a few of their cookies last time. As good as they look, I had to pass on them today...

same thing with their cakes. When I was in there, a lady walked in and needed a cake for a birthday party. She was able to get a pretty good sized chocolate mousse cake decorated with glazed strawberries chocolate shavings for $65. I know that sounds like it's expensive, but this was a really big cake! I really like how they decorate their cakes here. It's not too fancy and they keep it simple with just fruits and almonds (or chocolate shavings).

These breads looked so good but they will have to wait for another visit...

Here was trio of pastries (the palmier was a double)...

This was called a pineapple "turnover" ($1.85), even though it resembled a "roll" more. It was quite heavy feeling and was best served sliced into rounds.

I really liked this and would get it again in a heartbeat!
Below, the pair of palmiers (.90 each). This is TC's new favorite...

You can taste the crisp and buttery goodness with these!

Mexico Lindo makes the best palmier!
Recently, I stopped by Gloria's Bakery...

I was surprised it was still open since it was nearly 8 pm.

The nice lady that was there my first visit was also there that evening. I only wanted one thing, which was one of their savory breads. This was one of the few that were left, the ham and cheese bread ($3.00) that she was kind enough to microwave for me in a paperbag before I left.

TC and I had a few bites but Bert was the one who gladly polished it off when we got home...

Next time, I'm hoping to catch their elusive machaca filled bread!

Mexico Lindo Bakery - November 2013
Now that I'm finally on Thanksgiving break, I'm hoping to get caught up with my books, trying new recipes, and of course, checking out new places as well as tried and true favorites!

Have a good weekend
Hi Faye, yes, I've tried European Cake Gallery's cakes before. A few friends had it for their wedding and bday, but I actually haven't been to the store. I might check it out during my winter break...thanks for the reminder!
