I hadn't been here in awhile and I was curious to try a cupcake place she recommended...
Frost Me Cupcakes has a kiosk fairly close to the outside eating area near the food court. They had a wide selection of cupcakes ($3.75 each) and it was hard to decide on just one.

I decided on the blueberry hazelnut while Kirbie chose the sea salt caramel.

Both cupcakes were moist and delicious but had way too much frosting. I really liked the combination of hazelnuts with blueberries. The filling was a lovely blueberry compote which I really enjoyed.

Before going home, I made a quick stop at Bristol Farms, also in the Costa Verde Center. Waaaay back in the Stone Age (early 90's, haha), this store was a Big Bear, then it became an Albertsons after that. Bert and Thane used to live in the apartments down the street during their UCSD undergrad days. I remember going shopping for fettucine alfredo ingredients here with N and also shopping at Pier 1 (which is now gone).
My main purpose at Bristol Farms was to use one of two FREE Nest Fresh egg coupons that I won from Jinxi's blog. None of the stores down south (Ralphs, Albertsons and Vons) don't carry them, but this place does. It's very nice inside, like Whole Food, but much bigger. With the coupon, I saved $3.99! The eggs were brown and I ended up using them for a pre-New Year's Day breakfast I hostyed for my girlfriends. They were so fluffy and cooked into a lovely light yellow color for my scrambled eggs unlike the other eggs I had in my fridge. I also bought a chocolate brioche loaf. Last year D brought one to our pre-NY day breakfast; she bought hers from Whole Foods in Pasadena. This was the exact same brand/same loaf and it was heartily enjoyed by all.

Who else went to Frost Me?
Kirbie went here October 2014
as for Bristol Farms, Cathy recently visited and enjoyed the Malibu sandwich...

I remember last year on some day that super super hot I tried to go to Frost Me in UTC but they hadn't opened yet! And I was like, seriously, why did I come here on my lunch break then? I wanted to review both spots in one post but OH WELL. I still haven't gone to the little booth. UTC is such a pain to go to in the afternoon. I remember when that mall used to be empty and sad, haha.
The Albertson's by my house has the NestFresh eggs and they charge $5.49 for them! I had a coupon though. Hah. Bristol Farms has the best croutons. And apparently cheaper, fancy eggs.
cupckes on a really hot day isn't appealing. all that melted frosting, heh.
yes, utc is always so crowded. parking always sux. i remember the sad old days too and parking still sucked back then too. it used to be the "fancy" mall because it was up north (remember, i came from the ghetto down south, haha).
i like those nest fresh eggs. i still have a coupon for one more dozen. i hope i can find a closer place that carries them so i can use them. our albertson's down here doesn't have them.
