The heart shaped waffle maker was one of our wedding gifts years ago and it still gets used, thank goodness!

The gorgeous strawberries came from this field....
on the corner of 4th and Main in south Chula Vista. It's right across the street from the Tacos El Prieto taco truck. This is one of the last pieces of farm land down here. The houses you see in the distances are near Montgomery High School.

TC and I went here last week to pick up a few packs...

We ended up getting the 3 basket pack. Same prices from last year.

Every beautiful berry was ripe, fragrant, and perfect!

This was the waffle mix Bert used for our waffle hearts. I bought it at Indulge, a tiny gourmet shop on Ray Street in North Park (that post is forthcoming).

This was such a perfect way to start off my day...

Later on that evening, the strawberries were also put to use in the spinach salad (with toasted pecans, sliced red onions, and poppyseed dressing).

Pretty simple, eh!
"Christine....the strawberry girl!"

No tacos from across the street CC?
Not that day, no, Kirk. We were strictly on a strawberry mission!
