Replacing the Daphne's in Eastlake is Luna Grill...
A couple of friends and I went to check it out during our lunch hour. It's right next to Jamba Juice and across from Starbucks and Panda Express...

It was so red and white in here. My friend said, "I feel like I'm eating in Target"

I used the coupon - $5 off 25 or more for all three of us. Since they both ordered beverages, it jacked up the price but hey, the coupon helped.

One of us had the gyros lunch plate. All lunch plates come with a few slices of pita, yogurt/cucumber dip, salad, and rice. She liked the gyros better than Daphne's version. I'm not a gyros fan since the meat tastes wierd to me.

I had the Beef Kabob lunch plate. The meat in the kabobs were interspersed with grilled red onions and red peppers. Some pieces were charred. It was a lot of food. The meat was pretty tender and I liked the marinade, but my other friend didn't like his combo plate.

Here's his plate - The chicken kabob is hiding there somewhere but you can see the beef. He is a very picky eater and said it was "nasty". Well, if it was that bad, then why did he eat it? I liked my plate but felt it was a huge portion. I picked at the kabob, eating only the meat since the vegetables were too blackened in some parts.

I didn't realize that Luna Grill was a chain and they have various locations throughout San Diego. They also serve appetizers, wraps, sandwiches and salads. Their lunch plates are either beef, chicken, lamb (ugh), and falafel.

Well, it was worth at least one visit. Don't know if I'd be back since I'm not too fond of this type of cuisine. The food is too similar to the restaurant it replaced. The decor is the only main difference. Brighter and newer packaging. Same food but different name. At least the food is mainly grilled which is better than fried, right?
Before I end this post, a quick round up of RPattz's various appearances while promoting "Breaking Dawn-Part 1":
OMFG, RPattz on Fallon tonight!

I like how Fallon always makes him do goofy stuff, like when he did "Bothered" while they were both in a tree and how he had him shoot fake lasers from his eyes. Should be an interesting interview!
And yes, I'm going to watch the movie even though I hated that damn book with a passion. And yes, I'm curious about those, uh sexay honeymoon scenes. With all that talk about the sex scene having to be cut from R to PG-13, hmmmm. Let's see how creative director Bill Condon was with the angles and such. All I know is, I want to see that headboard breakin', log jammin', pile drivin' action!

That is all.

I always get these coupons in the mail, but never heard anything about it. I love Mediterranean food, so I'll probably check it out soon.
