San Diego Desserts revisited

After our quick stop at Barnes Bar-B-Que to pick up our brisket and ribs dinner, we made a quick trip to the Rolando area...

Located near the King Pawn shop (see looming sign above), San Diego Desserts always has a decent selection of sweets going on...

Witness their case of goodies...

And check out this artistic masterpiece...I love the saw in the head! Goes with the pink feathers!

We picked up three desserts. Yes, we broke out the wedding china.

TC's Red Velvet. This was really rich - all that cream cheese frosting. Sugar overload, but isn't that what desserts are known for?

My Peanut Butter Bombe, which was pretty damn good.

And this was Bert's Caramel Bombe. I thought he'd go for the PB but he immediately knew he wanted the Caramel, which he loved of course.

If you ever get any of the chocolate covered desserts, the chocolate coating is "soft". It's not a hard shell. The other flavors were Macademia, Raspberry, Chocolate Decadence (it had a cool topper that had a gold flecked piece of chocolate), and the Banana Teardrop (so pretty).

With dinner and dessert ready for later, it was time to head back home and relax.

Previous visits to San Diego Desserts:
My first visit last year, October 2010 (this includes links to other posts by The Diligent Diletante, Mary from Foodies: A SoCal Foodblog, and Cathy from Mmm-Yoso)
Our second visit this Spring 2011 during my food crawl with Bert

The sweets in this store reminded me of this song, "Delicious Demon" by the Sugarcubes from their first album, "Life's Too Good" (1988)

Love Bjork's voice! Good memories of their concert back in the late 80's for 91X's X-Fest...back when concerts were still affordable ($20 and under)!
