But this is now there!

Here today and gone tomorrow...
Turns out there are two more locations of A&D in National City. We headed North on Highland, passing by Karina's (there are three locations in Chula Vista alone); they do have pretty good seafood there.

I really love the mini cake facade and the multicolored letters in the sign! It's cut off but the last word is "Cakes".

The Cafe LaMaze steakhouse is a National City institution. Have always passed by but never eaten there. Maybe one of these days...

We didn't realize the other location was on the East side of Plaza Blvd, just east of the 805 in the strip mall by the freeway.

A&D is a Hawaiian bbq joint owned by Chinese in a strip mall full of Filipino businesses (see sign at end of post)...

It's pretty bare in here. The floors were kind of grimy.

We used the coupon to get two different combo plates. One was for TC and the other for a friend and her niece. TC had dance practice that day and it was a long session. During her lunch, we planned to go somewhere else for our lunch.

For my friend and her niece, we got the Chicken Katsu with rice and mac salad. This was a lot of food. Gosh, I hope it tasted all right.

The Kalbi ribs with rice and mac salad was for TC (who ended up sharing some of it with her friends). Although it looks like a lot of food, unfortunately TC said the meat was a bit too fatty. She just ate around the fat though. The service was quick and efficient here.

Here's the sign you can see off the 805 and Plaza Blvd exit...

They have the trifecta here - ChowKing, Filipino Desserts Plus and Red Ribbon Bakery. I like the desserts at Filipino Desserts Plus but I like their closer location within Seafood City in Chula Vista so I don't have to drive up here.

Who else ate at A&D?
The Diligent Diletante went here back when it was still on Highland Avenue.
Next up, a revisit to Indulge...

Now I'm not only craving pan de ube and fried calamari, I'm craving for a plate lunch. :-)
well DON'T GO HERE because it kinda sucked!
haha, kind of sucked. The one place here in Poway actually makes a decent plate lunch (Ipo BBA). The Mister likes their chicken katsu and I like their spicy kalbi plate. Dang, I think I'll need to make some kalbi for dinner now.
i say "kinda" because I didn't really taste their food. who knows, maybe their other stuff is gourmet quality (not).
