Actually, it wasn't that bad. Here's a place I've always wondered about, The Nite Owl...

The Food Blogger Bake Sale was organized by the talented Marie of Meandering Eats (links at the end of the post). Proceeds from the event ended up netting $1750 to help stamp out childhood hunger. The bake sale had over 25 participants, most of them food bloggers and/or bakers. All of the tables were located by the Great News! store in PB.

We came towards the tail end of the sale and were worried that there wouldn't be anything left. Not to worry because there were still lots of goodies on the tables...

It was difficult trying to choose which ones to buy...

Here she is, the awesome and beautiful organizer/dynamo Marie!

Followed by the lovely Leanne of Three Dog Kitchen who was busy ringing up purchases...

For every item you bought, you got a raffle ticket to win a goodie basket from Rosie Lee's British Foods in University Heights! Wow, I'd never even heard of this place and now I want to go check it out. I can wear my vintage Def Leppard Union Jack sleeveless shirt for the visit. Heh heh. Seriously folks, the shirt is from 1983!

Cookies made by Dan, aka Mr. Meandering Eats. :)

Mango cupcakes by Jenny of A Foray into Food.

Loved her purple character! This were Kirbie's cookies and chocolate mochi roses.

Even though it was already 1'ish, there were still lots of people there.

I spent about $21 here today but it was worth it!!!

Here are pre-bake sale posts from these busy bakers and blogger friends:
Marie of Meandering Eats (the awesome organizer)
Jenny of Foray into Food
Leanne of Three Dog Kitchen (she was the one handling the $$$ that day)
Darlene of My Burning Kitchen
Mary of Foodies: A SoCal Foodblog
and Kirbie of Kirbie's Cravings
I was able to purchase items from almost everyone above. I'll put out a separate post for that soon.
Here are post bake sale posts from the various participants. Note: These are only the ones from whose goods I purchased:
Sass and Veracity - the Mixed Fruit Tart
Bakerita - Peanut Brittle
Chantilly et Foie- Papa's Two Chip Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie
A Fine Kettle of Fish- Chocolate Cherry Bomb Cupcake
LivLifeToo - Lemon Limoncello Biscotti and Peanut Butter Chocolate Rice Krispy Treat
as well as this recap from Mary!
[update 5/21 - A recap of our food adventure by CAB of Cab Cooks here]
Oh, and don't forget Darlene's recipe for her Nutter Fluffer Brownie Sandwich! Yum!
