Calvin Klein wedges

With the weather so nice, it almost feel like summer's here.

That means more open toed shoes...
Time to get your strappy sandals out...

In this case, these killer Calvin Klein wedges bought last year on clearance from DSW. I had a coupon too so they ended up being only $30. Better than paying $80 bones for these. When I saw them, I didn't look at the label. I buy my shoes based on how they look and not who makes them. And price is also a factor. If they're on sale even better. If not, I will wait awhile to see if the price goes down.

These strappy wedges are a pebbled silvery leather with thick brushed silver hardware on the vamp. The 5" wedge is also black, which is what attracted me to the shoe. I like wedges more when the wedge isn't solid "cork" which looks too boho for me.

Outfit details:
Cropped black sweater with ruched sleeves (seen in the "Wedgie" post) from JCPenny's
Green jersey shirt by Anthropologie
Black leather belt with silver studs by Michael Kors (bought on extreme clearance from Loehmann's - yo dude, $12)
Denim jeans by Rock and Republic (these are two years old)

When I wear heels this high, I feel pretty damn tall and I like it! But I also am fearful of tripping and horribly twisting my ankle!

I love the details on the shirt. It drapes quite nicely. This was a medium because I was afraid that the small would be too tight. I ended up washing this in hot water and putting it in the dryer to make it fit better.  This top is called "The Gathering" and is by Deletta which is known for their really pretty jersey tops with intricate details - ruffles, diamond pintucks and draping (see more product info here)

I normally don't buy clothes from Anthropologie because it's an expensive store, but I really liked the details as well as the brilliant green hue. The top also came in turquoise, pink, black, white, and lilac. I have too many black tops. White makes me look fat and the other colors, well forget it.

It was horny M'n'M green for me!

And in a nod to this awesome color is this soothing lullabye from Judas Priest, "The Green Manalishi with the Two Pronged Crown" (a remake of a Fleetwood Mac song, believe it or not):

This performance was from the VH-1 Rock Honors Awards in 2006, back when guitarist KK Downing was STILL in Priest. The only original members left are the Metal God Rob Halford and the other lead guitarist, Glenn Tipton. The drummer, bassist and twin lead axeman are new. They were the ones on AI last night.

My co-worker (who's "family"/one of my GBF's and doesn't like heavy metal) said that Rob Halford and James Durbin looked like big old leather drag queens. I think that Halford was over the top with his full on leather outfit and that Durbin looked like the dude from the Village People except without the moustache.

Oh, middle America...their unmetallized virgin eyes and eyes were tainted last night with that performance! I think that was the first (and last) time you'll see heavy metal on AI!

Love that top! I had to see where it was from and it turned out to be my favorite store! I just heard a bunch of bad press about that company, stealing artists work for their urban outfitters line and I'm thinking maybe I should avoid it, but its hard with such adorable clothes! I agree that it is expensive though.
