Since joining Rubio's "Beach Club" (where you can get coupons, etc), I've taken advantage of their deals. Since it's both Lent and also my bday month, I wanted to use my Free Birthday Meal deal for some fish tacos.

After doing a bunch of errands after work with TC, we headed over to Rubio's for some free grub.

Here's our ghetto lemonade - water with ice, free lemon wedges and sugar (or in this case, Splenda).

My mailer from Rubio's said I could order items up to $7.00, so I figured I'd pay the difference if it cost more. I'm pretty boring at Rubio's. I almost always get the same thing, so here's our exciting dinner, four fish tacos...

Battered fish with shredded cabbage and a mayo-based white sauce plus some extra hot sauce (roasted chipotle or something)...Plus a squeeze of lime. My favorite from Rubio's.

Interestingly, I thought my birthday deal would cover up to $7 so I was expecting to pay a couple of dollars more. Well, that wasn't a problem because it turned out to be zilch dollars.

Wut? Like a dumbass, I questioned her but she said it was free, so hey, I didn't argue! You know, she even asked me if that was all I wanted to order. Hmmm, does that mean, I could have ordered more?
Anyhow, I am now officially on Spring Break for two weeks! Yeahhhh! Looking forward to more "deals" next week with TC and Bert!
Plus, I can finally do these things:
1) Watch those last few episodes of "Spaced- Season 2" (I love British humor and Simon Pegg! but not for his looks), "Generation Kill" (OMFG, Alexander Skarsgard as a Marine! Hot!), rewatch "True Blood - Season 3" (Mmmm, Alexander Skarsgard as Eric! Even Hotter!), "The Tudors - Season 3" (yeah, I know I'm behind, but (pants breathlessly), Henry Cavill as Charles Brandon!!!)
2) Finally finish reading "Cosmopolis", the "Wimpy Kid" series, and
3) Watch "Water for Elephants" when it comes out in 2 weeks! (OMFG, RPattz in period 1930's clothing!!!)
4) Sleep in!
5) Try new places with TC who is also on vacation (thanks Year Round schedule)....
The South Bay Food Crawl posts will resume shortly...

I've been eating Rubio's salads recently! I use their salsas in place of dressing but they can't be all healthy, they taste too good.
that's a good idea - salsa instead of dressing. healthier.
I've had their fish tacos, and they are indeed yummy! I've only tried the fried version. Thinking of trying the grilled fish next time, and see if that's as good. :)
hi j - i should try the grilled version next time as well - i imagine it would be healthier than the fried!
