Third time's a charm - Cafe Madeleine and the Daily Scoop

The day after my actual birthday, TC and I enjoyed a beautiful sunny day out in South Park. Lunch was at Cafe Madeleine. She liked the prosciutto panini so much last time we were here. Here is the view of Cafe Madelein from the window of the Daily Scoop, where TC later had an ice cream cone.

Since it's pretty small in there, we opted to sit outside. Gotta tell you though, they need to replace their chairs. The plastic woven strips were coming apart and they were kinda ragged on some edges which made it uncomfortable to sit in certain parts. We ended up switching out our chairs with the ones next to us. It's a good thing we weren't wearing shorts!

TC's prosciutto panini served with mixed greens and balsamic dressing.

I had the roast beef panini. Yeah, I know, I got it last time but I really liked it. We ended up taking the other halves of our paninis home.

TC and I had matching nails. I bought this purple glittery polish from OPI and did our nails the day before.

Before we left, I bought a cocoa nib topped chocolate macaron ($4); this was made by Opera Patisserie. It was pretty damn big and a bit too soft. I like the texture of the smaller ones better where there is a bit of a crackle when you bite into it.

By the way, Bert bought me an updated version of my older camera, so yay! I love it!

That macaron was really sweet; we ended up saving the other half for Bert. TC wanted to try the Daily Scoop again so off we went just a short half block away. She got the Red Mint chip flavor. I passed on the ice cream this time! Shocking isn't it?

The ice cream at the Daily Scoop is made by Niederfrank's in National City. I've had this flavor in the past as well and it's excellent, along with the Triple Chocolate....

This whole week was fun going out to lunch with TC. Tomorrow we would be going someplace both of us had never been...
